Photo Gallery | Memphis places recognized among nation's most iconic attractions
—Recently, a USA Today and 10Best readers choice poll named Graceland as the Best Iconic American Attraction. It collected nearly half of the votes in the category. Elvis Presley's former home defeated the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore for the lead out of 20 nominees.
—In the same poll, the National Civil Rights Museum, formerly the Lorraine Motel, ranked third.
—Yahoo Music has listed Sun Studio as legendary. Back to Elvis ... it's where he recorded his first song. But let's not forget Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Howlin' Wolf.
—Beale Street was named America's favorite iconic street after a poll on 10Best and USA TODAY.
—Memphis BBQ is among the nation's most iconic foods. So take a drive down to Central BBQ, Charles Vergos' Rendezvous, or Tops BBQ (to list a few) to enjoy that bragging right.
—Too much Elvis? Let's make a locals list of what you consider iconic in Memphis and why. Send you ideas to the web producer, firstname.lastname@example.org, and you may be featured in next week's Memphis Trivia Tuesday!
