Photo Gallery | Kids celebrate the new year at Children's Museum

Since most youngsters are asleep by midnight, the children's museum staged their New Year's Eve countdown Saturday.

Kid's counted down to New Year's at noon.

When the clock struck 12 candy flew through the air instead of confetti.

The museum created it's own Times Square for a kid friendly celebration.

"We did it today because the Liberty Bowl will be consuming this area as far as the streets are concerned on New Year's Eve and so we move it to the Saturday before New Year's Eve," former Children's Museum of Memphis CEO Dick Hackett.

New Year's at Noon at the Children's Museum has been a Memphis tradition for 23 years.
