Friday morning a large industrial crane sat on the corner of Overton Square lifting air conditioning units off a vacant building’s roof.
According to Loeb Properties Marketing Director Leslie Jerkins, that vacant 5,650-square-foot lease at 2125 Madison will soon be Bar Louie which will have extensive indoor and outdoor seating.
The first floor outdoor patio will be 1,700 square-foot and facing Cooper.
Bar Louie, a Chicago-based franchisee known for its casual dining and specialty martinis, plans to be open for business in February 2013.
But Memphians will see some empty storefronts filling up in a few weeks.
The Mayor’s Innovation Team is sponsoring a pop-up holiday market at Overton Square with more than 40 artists selling their wares, a community café, a pop-up men’s store, music and more.
