ArtsMemphis received one of the nation’s top arts marketing awards for its Hop-On Hop-Off bus service that provides quick and easy transportation to the best of Memphis’ cultural attractions.
The service launched earlier this year in conjunction with Blues City Tours, a member of the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau. The colorfully decorated bus provides transportation between some of Memphis’ premier arts and entertainment destinations.
“We created the bus because the sheer number of attractions and the distance between them in Memphis can be logistically tough for people to enjoy all that we have to offer,’’ said President and CEO of ArtsMemphis Susan Schadt.
The first-place award will be presented by Americans for the Arts to ArtsMemphis during the National Arts Marketing Conference next month in Portland, OR. The group singled out the Hop-On Hop-Off bus service for its innovative way to encourage local residents and tourists to visit key local arts venues.
