Central Gardens Home Tour wows visitors | Home & Garden

(WMC-TV) - It's an event I had been waiting for all year. The Central Garden Home Tour takes place every September.
For $15 you can walk through seven homes from the historic and lovely Mid-Town neighborhood.
The last tour took place this past Sunday, September 9.
It's amazing to see how the current owners mix their homes with variety of furniture and collections from the early 1900s and also from today.
My favorite house to tour was the Crump House on Peabody.
Boss Crump had the house built in 1909. He also died there. I was told, that after his death, his body was placed in the foyer with roses leading up the stairs.
It's really an event the entire neighborhood turns out to support, not only by taking the tour, but the little kids also set up lemonade stands and collect money for charities. Boy Scouts also sold cold drinks to the hundreds of thirsty visitors.
