Fifth graders from Idlewild Elementary are going to Washington D.C. - but they need your help.
Most of the children will not have the opportunity to go without the assistance of a large fundraiser.
“Most of these kids have been together, have known each other since preschool. It's a fantastic class and they work really hard - they are nice, outstanding students," said one of the parents planning the event and host Rachael Mary Geiser.
That is why you will find Reindeer Games in the downtown Memphis Court Square in a couple Saturdays.
On Dec. 15 from 12 p.m to 5:00 p.m. you can help by enjoying everything from live music to a cornhole tournament. See the full list of events on Reindeer Games’ Facebook.
The popular Amurica will be present along with other local vendors.
Downtown Restaurants are hosting a Pub Crawl that starts when festival ends.
"When Mr. Veasley (a fifth grade teacher at Idlewild) said he wanted to take them to D.C. this year, we looked at the cost and it was fairly expensive to make sure every one of those kids gets to go. We don't want anyone not to go because of the costs," said Geiser.
All proceeds will benefit the Idlewid 5th Grade Class Trip to D.C. The fifth grade class has 82 students.
