Southern sushi chef Marisa Baggett is baking fresh yeast buns with savory fillings. There are currently: five flavors Asian barbecue pork, chicken kimchee, Japanese-style curry vegetable, orange duck, and mustard pretzel. Firehouse Subs plans to open two locations in Memphis - the owner, David Whidden, wants to focused on the location in Collierville because that is where they live. Along with Whidden’s two sons, the group could add another Jackson location eventually. There are currently three open in the Memphis area at this time - you can find their location on the website here.
Five Guys Burgers:
Five Guys Burgers and Fries is expanding into Bartlett - it could open as soon as two months. It will be located in the former Blockbuster video store space in Stage Center on Kirby Whitten. Currently, there is only one franchise in the Memphis area - it is in White Station on Ridgeway Road.
MULAN Bistro :
MULAN Bistro opened its second location in Cooper-Young Monday - the other location is in Collierville. Mulan Bistro was rated in the top 100 of 43,139 Chinese restaurants in the entire country by the Chinese Restaurant Association and Chinese Restaurant News from 2006-2010. YoLo Frozen Yogurt Eatery:
YoLo is installing frozen yogurt machines in The University of Memphis Bookstore on campus. The machines will compliment the coffee cafe that already resides in the bookstore. A report was released in University of Memphis independent newspaper The Daily Helsmans - an official date has not been set.
