New church looks to rejuvinate Memphis communities | Arts & Culture

(WMC-TV) - A new church is now open and looking to help heal the community.

Tim Holmes and his wife, Shunta Holmes, moved to Memphis to build a new ministry.

The couple is from Gulfport, MS and are currently residing in Bartlett.

They began their current ministry called Freedom Christian Center as a simple bible study class from their home for about a year and a half.

From there, they wanted to do more for the community and branch out.

The Freedom Christian Center is a ministry that caters toward those who don not normally attend church and are frowned upon in society.

The church is in its beginning stages and is currently operating out of the Old LandMark Church on 1490 Hollywood Street.

They couple is very grateful that Pastor Dobby Williams is allowing them to use Old Landmark Church at this time. 

They are searching for people who care about their community, who want to serve, and who want to draw people towards God.
