Grant for Indie Memphis Film Festival | Arts & Culture

Indie Memphis is being rewarded for holding its most successful film festival in history.

The Academy Foundation of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is awarding Indie Memphis a $10,000 grant.

This is the maximum amount for a grant Indie Memphis could receive.

The Academy 's education and cultural committee gave Indie Memphis a similar grant in 2009 and 2010.

Indie Memphis' executive director said the funds would be used to strengthen relationships between participating filmmakers.

The organization also hopes to build new connections between filmmakers and the Memphis community.
