Back Yard Burgers closes six Memphis stores |

Six Back Yard Burgers resturants will be shut down in the Memphis area. The locations are listed below.

• 3659 Hickory Hill Road
• 3799 E. Shelby Drive
• 3288 Austin Peay Hwy
• 3183 Poplar Avenue
• 4471 Summer Avenue
• 8251 Hwy 51 North ; Millington

Memphis will still have 17 company-owned stores that remained open.

Corporate spokesperson Monte Jump said there are approximately 15 employees per location.

He said employees that were displaced would have the option of applying for work at another Back Yard Burgers location.   

In a statment the company said, “We regret having to close some of our company-owned restaurants in Memphis.  Like any responsible company during these challenging times, Back Yard Burgers is conducting a comprehensive review of its business to ensure the company is operating efficiently and positioned for future growthWe remain committed to continuing to provide high-quality, freshly prepared, great tasting food to our customers in our remaining Memphis locations and other markets we serve.  We are pleased to report that Back Yard Burgers franchise-owned locations remain in Memphis as well as 17 company-owned locations.”
