FARMERS MARKET TO OPEN ON SATURDAYS
AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF MEMPHIS
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Children's Museum of Memphis is hosting a Farmers Market on the parking lot from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday beginning May 8.
At the market, farmers display their fresh produce for sale and children meet the farmers and learn about how food is grown and where vegetables they eat come from. Special programming will be offered by the museum related to farming topics.
"We want this to be a learning experience for children," said Richard C. Hackett, chief executive officer. "Most young ones are unfamiliar with farmers and growing food. This experience will allow them to get hands-on with nature."
